Chromeo is about to hit the road again, kicking off their autumn Night Falls tour in Dallas tomorrow and then making their way across the country, with a few weeks before they play three dates in Colorado. Chromeo will bring their electro-funk sound to the Boulder Theater, the Ogden Theater in Denver, and Belly Up Aspen. If you aren't familiar with Chromeo's sound but love to tear up the dance floor, Chromeo will light your feet on fire with their synth heavy electro sound somewhere between Hall & Oates and Prince marinated in contemporary textures. If you are familiar with Chromeo, you already know what you're in for, but this Chromeo tour just may be the best one to hit Colorado yet. I know I'm ridiculously excited to see these guys live again, and will be making my way to the Ogden Theater on October 7th to join in on the party. NOTE: The start of the Night Falls tour has been postponed due to the tragic loss of DJ Mehdi. The Dallas date has been moved to Nov. 20, and the tour will begin in Houston on Sep. 16.

The concert at the Ogden Theater will be the third time I've seen Chromeo in about the span of a year; they just keep making me come back for more. At this point, Chromeo has three album releases under their belt; from the debut album She's In Control that introduced the world to "Needy Girl" and their signature sound, to the breakthrough Fancy Footwork, to the latest release Business Casual with even more sex funk grooves. These albums paired with Chromeo's growing list of electro-funkified remixes and covers means the entire Chromeo repertoire will be sure to please. Not to mention they've got an incredible live show, complete with Dave 1's funky guitar solos and P-Thugg's talk box action. This latest tour is sure to offer a satisfying amount of old favorites and new surprises that'll keep bodies moving on the dance floor all night long.

This time, Chromeo is bringing two acts along to Denver that will make the whole concert package an epic experience, the first of which is the retro styled Mayer Hawthorne & The County. Couples be warned, Mayer Hawthorne & The County will add so much sexy soul to the occasion the set might as well be labeled a collection of audio aphrodisiacs. Mayer Hawthorne's smooth voice and throwback instrumentation will transport listener's back in time, like listening to something between Curtis Mayfield, Bobby Caldwell, and Smokey Robinson. Bring someone you want to hold close, because Hawthorne's slow jams will turn up the heat, and his fast-paced jams will have everyone cutting a rug.

Hawthorne has also been busy giving the sexy soul treatment to Chromeo songs. He's taken the steamy uptempo "Don't Turn The Lights On" and slowed it to getting-down-to-business time, complete with sultry vocals that are sure to ignite passion. He gives similar treatment to "When The Night Falls", taking Chromeo's discotheque version and giving it the champagne room treatment. With other seductive covers under his belt and a new sensual soul album around the corner, there may be a slight increase in population next summer as a result of Mayer Hawthorne's performance.

Before things get sexy and crazy with Chromeo and Mayer Hawthorne & The County, Sammy Bananas will get everyone glistening with some spicy hot house music. Sammy Bananas is a house producer from Brooklyn, NY that delivers electro hip-house with a distinctive tropical flair. He'll take the listener back to vintage '80s/'90s house but after giving it a refreshing modern tech-house twist. It's like electro-fied C&C Music Factory matched with Latin style beats. Check out the early house take on R. Kelly in "My Body" and the homage to classic house in "Ladies", complete with samples of the Real McCoy, Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock, and even the Beastie Boys. Sammy Bananas is sure to be the perfect start to what is slated to be an incredible dance party.

I'll be headed to the Ogden Theater to be a part of this party featuring a phenomenal lineup. If you love dance, I strongly recommend you make it to at least one of the three nights these guys will be in Colorado. Buy two tickets, because you'll want to share the experience with a special someone. But if you're single, the mood will be right to find that someone out on the dance floor. The show starts at the Ogden Theater on Friday, October 7th at 9:00PM. Tickets are available at the box office or online for $35 (plus fees if they apply). Get them as soon as you can, because a party this good is sure to sell out.
