I'll be missing the action again this Saturday night, but I'll help sort through the 200+ live music events going on tonight by giving you the top concerts on my calendar tonight. I'll give them in no particular order, and the list will include a range of genres, so if somehow you know you want to see live music tonight you may be able to find something worth checking out here.

BAD BOY BILL with Cognition + T-Rav and Marshall Monica at Beta Night Club
Bad Boy Bill has been a DJ since the year I was born, and 26 years later he's still at it, bringing his brand of electro house to Denver tonight. I used to listen to his Bangin' The Box mixes all the time years ago, and he still knows how to bring it with original tracks, remixes, and fluid continuous sets. Listen to the latest addition to his extensive catalog, "The Massive", which dropped this summer.

ORQUESTA BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB at City Hall
Although many of the original Buena Vista Social Club members have passed on, their legacy endures and there is still a thirteen member touring group that performs their renowned music. Better yet, four surviving original members will be in Denver as part of the troupe, making it the closest possible authentic experience to witnessing Buena Vista Social Club in their heyday. Manuel “Guajiro” Mirabal, Jesús “Aguaje” Ramos, Barbarito Torres and Omara Portuondo will be in Denver tonight, and they'll be playing in a venue with plenty of room to dance. They will be faithfully reproducing that classic Cuban sound, including songs like "Chan Chan".

MARTYPARTY with Raw Russ (Elm + Oak) at Fox Theatre
Boulder is going to be absolutely nuts tonight, so unless you are part of the incoming CU Boulder freshman class or don't mind dealing with them, you might want to avoid the scene. But if you just can't get enough of that womp womp, MartyParty will be dropping crossover dubstep (purple) all night, continuing all the wobbling that will happen on Farrand Field for the WelcomeFest this year. Check out "Love".

SNAKE RATTLE RATTLE SNAKE with A. Tom Collins and Land Lines at Bluebird Theater
Local dark dance rockers Snake Rattle Rattle Snake will be celebrating the release of their new CD by throwing a party at the Bluebird tonight. These guys have been coming up fast on the local scene due to there awesome brand of grim yet danceable indie rock 'n' roll. Check out "N.O.P.D."

CARBON CHOIR with FaceMan and The Host Club at Hi-Dive
Carbon Choir is a local indie rock band that often draws parallels to Radiohead. They definitely got the piano rock thing going on, and if you close your eyes, lead singer Joel Van Horne could be mistaken for Thom Yorke. Yet, when you listen further, you realize these guys do indeed have their own identity that does transcend their influences. Listen to "Bird With Broken Wings".

THE DENDRITES with The Reprecussions and Ska Skank Redemption at Bender's Tavern
How they will fit this huge instrumental ska band on the small Bender's Tavern stage is anyone's guess, but once they all squeeze on there, this local band is sure to get everyone easy skanking. If you are into that classic ska sound with a touch of reggae and dub, The Dendrites have just what you're looking for. Check out  "Maiden Voyage".

AESOP ROCK with Kimya Dawson, Rob Sonic and DJ Big Wiz at Aggie Theater
Underground hip-hop sensation Aesop Rock will be spitting his distinctive flows all over Fort Collins tonight. His signature rhyming style coupled with epic and dark beats have been a favorite among indie hip-hop heads for 15 years. If you haven't heard "Daylight" by now, where the hell have you been?

Like I said above, these are just the events at the top of my event calendar for tonight, but there is so much more going on. If I didn't have to work tonight, I'd be in one of the places on this list. It's Saturday night, if you're free to do what you please, support live music - it's the best way to support what you love and experience it the way it was meant to be.
